IT has been confirmed that Shaun Maloney will be in the stands to watch Hibs vs Celtic this afternoon.
The former Celtic player is set to take over as manager of the Easter Road club after the Premier Sports Cup final.
The 38-year-old is in line to become the new boss of Hibs, replacing Jack Ross, after spending time with the Belgium national team as a coach under Roberto Martinez.
He has yet to be officially appointed by the Edinburgh outfit though.
David Gray will be in charge at Hampden today, as he aims to replicate his past cup heroics to lift the trophy for the Hibees.
But their soon-to-be new man Maloney will be watching on with great interest from the stands of the national stadium, as he gets ready to sink his teeth into his first job in management.
Premier Sports’ Darrell Currie confirmed that they had bumped into the former Scotland international at the stadium.
But he did mention: “The deal is not done yet.”
Chris Sutton added: “He wants to be Hibs manager, but there is still work to do.”
