Chris Sutton offers Tom Rogic appraisal as Celtic sweep aside St Johnstone

CHRIS SUTTON has lavished praise on Celtic star Tom Rogic after the 3-1 victory over St Johnstone.

The Australian international assisted two goals as he strolled through the Scottish Premiership match against the bottom side.

Rogic, who has been in inspired form under Ange Postecoglou, first slid played through Liel Abada with a terrific through ball for the attacker’s second of the afternoon.

He then zipped a ball into Nir Bitton who sealed the win with a well-taken finish on the edge of the box.

And Celtic hero Sutton was impressed with the afternoon’s work from Rogic in Perth.

Offering his appraisal, he posted on Twitter: “Tom Rogic looked like he was playing on a different pitch to everyone else today… lovely footballer”.

It comes after Australia boss Graham Arnold insisted there’s more to come, both for Celtic and the Socceroos, from the midfielder.

The national team manger told FTBL: “You’ve seen him at the forefront for Celtic in recent weeks; when he’s in this type of form he can be unplayable at times.

“He’s matured into one of Celtic’s leaders over the years and you can see the level of confidence he has in every move he makes.

“He’s always looking to make things happen with a change of pace, a strike on goal or a killer pass – and that’s very tough to defend against.

“Ange knows what makes Tommy tick and how to bring out the best in him – and we’ve seen a lot of that this season.”
